Just in this afternoon from CASHCulture... Looks like some downtime next week! But good news overall as this means they will be able to safely and securely accommodate all the activities that are about to explode with CASHCulture from our Team alone! There's positive spin for you! -:)

*** MAJOR SYSTEM UPGRADE ***

We are planning a MAJOR system upgrade in the coming week!

We are migrating our systems and servers to a location THREE TIMES
the size of our current facilities at our state-of-the-art
datacentre.

The new data center will have state-of-the-art security with better
climatic and humidity controls. We have redunant power supply and
dual redundant disel generators should there be any power outage.
There is also specialized fire and smoke detection systems and
fire suppresant systems.

So as you can see, this is a major upgrade!

The migration will be carried out during the course of this coming
week. Especially the middle of next week:
Tuesday 14th, Wendnesday 15th, Thursday 16th of October.

Bearing in mind that we have to physically relocate the servers and
reconfigure many of them for optimal performance, there will be some
intermittent unavailability of servers and services. Please bear
with us if you experince unavailability during this period.
Rest assured we will try our best to keep this to the minimum possible.

My new Systems Administrator Tom has drawn up a migration strategy
which would ensure the minimum of disruption of service.
I hope you understand, with such a major upgrade there may be a
slowdown here and there.
My deadline for this work is to complete this migration by Thursday
16th Oct 2003.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused, and we hope to
give our members an even better and more stable service with improved
infrastructure.
